The Grant House

 

Today you can enjoy a fine meal at the famous Grant House, but President Ulysses S. Grant never did, although the house was named for him. It was actually occupied by Colonel Hathaway, first post commander. This home, built in 1849, is the last log structure still standing from that era. It served at one time as an officer’s club, at another as a folk art center.
