Sam Robinson was born in South Bend, Washington, on the Willapa Bay, the home of many of his ancestors. He is currently serving his second term as Vice Chairman of the Chinook Tribe. He is also a member of a Chinook Canoe Family, which allows him to spend many hours on the waters traveling with his ancestors. He serves on the University of Washington Native American Advisory Board, and has worked with Clark College in preparation for their celebration of Native American month. He is also a member of the board for the Title Seven program at the Evergreen School District.
