Meet the artist - Paul Lanquist
In the shadow of Mount St. Helens volcano, where the folklore of Big Foot and the legend of D.B. Cooper were born, illustrator Paul Lanquist creates a steady stream of poster art that tells the story of America.

Lanquist, the grandson of Dust Bowl farm laborers, grew up in a red-white- and-blue-collar home in Bakersfield, Calif. He got his start working as a commercial illustrator for many Northwest chains like Fred Meyer and GI Joe's. But he has a uniquely American past, which his work embodies, often celebrating America’s rugged individualist and its pioneer spirit.

Lanquist is a leader in his field, creating many destination posters for the jewels of the National Park Service. A cowboy at heart, his souvenir-style, travel posters, numbering more than 1,000 for various sites across the country and Canada, are created in a converted horse stable/studio next to his house.
